‘Moore Law’ to Revisit Being ‘Hurt on the Job’

Moore Law host and local TV journalist Deb Haas and attorney co-host Don Moore were joined by Children’s Law Center, Inc. founder and executive director Kim Brooks Tandy to take viewer questions about “Kids in Trouble.” “The contact I’ve had with juvenile court basically is that their goal or their job first is the best interests of the child,” Don said. “Is that right?” “It is the best interests of the child, but there has been an increasing responsibility and focus on community safety as well,” Kim said. “I think the shift now is we’re realizing that in order to promote public safety, we really do have to treat the child so that they’re not continuing to commit crimes.” Deb, Don and Kim handled a variety of questions from viewers, including Alice in Cheviot asking what could be done about a 16-year-old grandson who was not going to school and…
